Events with no public attendees are a strange phenomenon but the SEP team delivered the same exceptional standard as always.
Being on site at Goodwood for a very different Speed Week saw the team adapt to changes required by the Coronavirus pandemic and provided assurance to the Goodwood team that the event would run as smoothly as any other.
A small event in comparison to Festival of Speed and Revival which bring more than 20,000 cars, however services required were the same and included 24-hour campsite management, parking services, traffic management, signage, and pedestrian crossing control.
The team were also heavily involved for build and break on the motor circuit and ensuring contractor details were recorded accurately for test and trace purposes.
Gary McCaffrey was on site for the duration and said “All staff had smiles on their faces and the feedback I got was that staff, like myself, were so happy to see each other face to face.
It was brilliant to be back in a field and seeing familiar faces again, also seeing the client face to face was a much-needed tonic for the soul.
I look forward to being operational again and Speed Week reminded me why I do this job, to be out in the open air and meeting people.”
We continue to face challenging times but as a team we adapt, we move forward, we deliver.
